Last Wednesday and Thursday were Parent-Teacher Conferences for my school district. Each year, the elementary specials teachers have collaboration meetings on the morning of the Thursday of conferences. This year, we decided to spend our time learning how to repair our Orff instruments. It was the best PD ever! We learned how to replace tubing as well as pegs. We also talked about how to diagnose and fix buzzes in instruments. We ended the day replacing a drum head on a tubano! By the way, I work with the most amazing elementary music team around--I LOVE US!
